How do you feel about next Wednesday, October 8th? Let’s head over to McGillin’s for happy hour (5-7ish). We’d would love to meet you (whoever you are), so if the location or the time doesn’t work, let us know and we can be flexible. Also, let us know if you’re coming!
“That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it’s got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.”—Sarah Palin, obviously. This is by far the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard anyone say, aside from “the Iraq, such as.” It’s even more amazing - and scary - that SNL used this word for word, more or less, in their Sarah Palin sketch this weekend. “She’s done three interviews and she’s running for Vice President of the United States? Jason Lee has done more interviews promoting My Name Is Earl. I’ve done more interviews today than she has to run for Vice President of the United States. Every time they let her talk for more than four minutes you start to feel sorry for her. Its kind of like Kim Kardashian on Dancing With The Stars, all that ass and she can’t shake it.”—Chris Rock on Sarah Palin (via soupsoup)
PBS is doing one of those instant online polls to ask “America” if they think Sarah Palin is fit to be Vice President. The GOP has launched a successful all out blitz to get Republicans to go on the site and click “Yes”. As a result right now it looks like 62% of “America” thinks Palin is qualified. The Republicans are going to be milking this for all its worth in their press efforts. We need to drive more Democrats and those opposed to Palin to the site to click “NO”. Let’s not give the GOP another easy weapon to put in their PR arsenal! Here’s the link: http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
“McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there’s no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.”—
McCain, this is disgusting. You are seriously saying that unless you get your way on some legislation you are going to boycott the Presidential debate? Isn’t the whole point of discussing a bailout plan that it’s a democratic process with, you know, voting and stuff? What’s the goal of this? Are you trying to shield Palin from having to answer questions?
just came across this on the roll call. DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK!!! For your own good, just realize that I found the grossest one, and you never have to look at it. Do yourself a favor and just ignore this post. I just feel so violated that I couldn’t be quiet about it. If, after all this, you still decide to view the MOST DISGUSTING tumblr, go ahead. ugh. PoopSpot <- don’t click that!
